Case Study: A Wedding Mandap?
A Mandap is a traditional and sacred covered tent with four pillars. PLANIT Weddings had the pleasure of planning an Indian wedding for an amazing couple, where we built a mandap from scratch.
The décor of the mandap was very important. However, it varies from each region across India. The styles change depending on the bride and groom.
For this Indian wedding, PLANIT weddings decorated the pillars with white satin linen and colorful flowers. We created a simple and traditional look for the couple. It was eight feet tall and was decked out with simple and beautiful colours.
The four pillars are said to be a representation of the four parents of the couple. It illustrates their love, support and blessing for the marriage to take place. It also symbolizes the home and is a future image of what the couple will enter into.
Building this wedding mandap for this Indian wedding was an incredible experience for PLANIT weddings. We loved every second of the wedding; It was full of tradition and represented the true love for what the couple had for one another.
